My husband loves peanut butter. The only thing he loves more is chocolate mixed with peanut butter. So, when I saw this recipe for choc/pb covered bananas, I had to try it. And yes, it was a success by my husband's standards!
You'll need: (quantities will depend on how much you want to make - I just eyeball it. Any extra "sauce" is Jordan's favorite as a snack to dip w/fruit when it's still warm ;)
- Chocolate Chips (I used Milk Choc)
- Peanut Butter (duh)
- Bananas
- Apples?
Step One:
Begin melting the chocolate chips and peanut butter together. Slice up your bananas in "bite size" pieces (mine were ginormous by this standard... but Bruce has a large mouth, lol). If you want to make apples, cut into slices.
Step Two:
When the pb/choc is completely melted together, begin dipping the fruits into the sauce - I place the piece on a spoon, dip into the pan, and try to cover completely. With the apples I just dipped half.
Step Three:
Place on a cookie sheet and stick in the freezer overnight.
*Warning: These are VERY cold! Jordan doesn't like them cause they're too cold, but we love them because it tastes like ice cream. You only need a few to satisfy a sweet tooth :) Bruce, though, will eat the entire pan ;)
